Nobody Warned Us the Front Stoop Would Be Our Whole Social Network
Before screens, the neighborhood ran on one simple system: go outside and see who was around.
There were no group chats to plan the day. You just walked outside, sat on the steps, and waited to see which friends drifted out of their own front doors.

The whole neighborhood was one big open invitation. You'd knock on a door, ask if someone could come out, and half the block would assemble within minutes.
Games got invented on the spot with whatever was lying around. A tennis ball, a piece of chalk, and a stretch of sidewalk could turn into hours of pure joy.
We didn't schedule fun. We just showed up and let it happen. That front stoop was the original feed, and it never once needed to be charged.
