Meal plans, shopping lists, bills and maintenance tasks can be easy to overlook until several need attention at once. After her son Miles was born, Becca Bullock decided to put that work into a more visible system.

In the account shared by Super Mommy, changing routines had left family life feeling difficult to organize. Bullock began approaching household responsibilities as she would a full-time job, setting out roles and creating daily and weekly routines.

She gathered meal planning, shopping inventory, budgets, bills and home maintenance information into a folder. Instead of depending on memory to hold every task, the household had a place to record what needed doing.

The idea was not that raising a child could become perfectly predictable. It was to give the practical work around family life a clearer structure and recognize how much of it existed in the first place.
