She Switched Her Dog's Walking Route For One Day — The Neighborhood's Reaction Proved Something Weird About All Of Us

Apparently, an entire street had been setting its clocks by a beagle.

For three years, she walked her beagle down the same streets at 7:15 a.m. sharp. Then one Tuesday, roadwork forced a detour. By Thursday, three separate neighbors had asked her if everything was okay.

One woman admitted she used the beagle as her signal to leave for work. An older man said his own dog waited by the window at 7:10 and had been 'inconsolable.' A kid at the bus stop reported that 'the dog was missing' to his entire class.

She had no idea. From her side of the leash, it was just a walk. From everyone else's, she and her dog were public infrastructure — as reliable as the streetlights and far more beloved.

She's back on the old route now, and waves at people she never noticed before. 'I thought I was walking my dog alone every morning,' she says. 'Turns out I was hosting a parade.'
