That Extra Shoelace Hole Isn't A Factory Mistake

Runners swear by it, and most people never use it once.

Look at your trainers. Near the top there's an extra hole set slightly apart from the rest.

It isn't decoration and it isn't a leftover. It's there for a clever lock.

Thread the lace back into it to form a small loop, then cross the laces through both loops.

Pull tight and you get a snug 'heel lock' that stops your foot sliding and saves you blisters.
