Two young brothers heard frantic flapping from a roadside drain and found a soaked, injured bird trapped below the grate. They fetched a shoebox, lifted it out with gentle hands, and nursed it in their garden shed.

For weeks they fed it, kept it warm, and watched over it until its wing healed. The day it finally lifted off over the hedge, they cheered and waved, half sad and half thrilled to see it go free.
