Pain is not a scoreboard, no matter what you have heard.

There is a myth that will not die: if you are not wrecked the next day, you wasted your time. Experienced athletes hear it and quietly despair.

Soreness is just a signal that something was new, not proof that something worked. You can train brilliantly and feel completely fine the following morning.

Chasing pain for its own sake leads people to overdo it, burn out, and quit. The gym is not a punishment you survive. It is a habit you get to keep.

The real win is being able to come back tomorrow and the day after. Progress lives in consistency, not in how badly the stairs hurt on Tuesday.
