Why Your Legs Feel Weirdly Heavy Some Days And Springy On Others

Same route, same shoes, totally different legs. What's actually going on?

One day you float along like your legs belong to someone faster. The next, the exact same route feels like you're wading through wet sand. Nothing obvious has changed, yet your legs clearly didn't get the memo. Frustrating, isn't it?

A lot of it comes down to what happened before you even started. Sleep, hydration, how much you moved yesterday and even stress all quietly stack up and show up in how fresh or flat your legs feel today.

Recovery is sneaky like that. If you trained hard recently, your body might still be quietly repairing and topping up energy stores, which can leave your legs feeling like they're carrying invisible weights for a session or two.

The trick is not to panic on heavy days. They're normal and they pass. Ease off, don't force a personal best, and trust that the springy days will come back around. Consistency beats punishing yourself on a rough one.
